CS-23A
This type of aircraft represents a group of small aircraft that represents a low-performance level of the CS-23 category. Such an aircraft can be used for short flights (short commuter, training, trip, sport) at low altitudes. The expected flight duration will be in the range of 1-3 hours. There are only a few seats in this type (2-4) with crew included.
The Cessna 152 has been chosen as an excellent representative example of the CS-23A category, and the main technical parameters were derived from it. The Evektor EPOS electric aircraft is used as a flying demonstrator for the same category, although its technical parameters and overall performance fall into the lowest end of the CS-23.

CS-23B
This type of aircraft represents a group of CS-23 aircraft with higher power requirements, MTOW and/or more seats in general. These aircraft are usually used for mid-distance flights (mid commuter, business, long trip, private) in medium altitudes (10 000 – 25 000 ft) and their flight duration ranges from 3-4 hours. These aircraft can reach longer distances than the CS-23A type because of higher airspeeds. However, they are limited in terms of their maximum flight altitude due to a decreasing effectivity of their propellers, so it is possible to also meet aircraft with the fan (or jet) engines in this category.
The EV-55 Outback has been specified as the representative for this category.

CS-25
This type of aircraft represents a single-aisle aircraft that falls into the CS-25 category. It is used for regional distance flights, which contains city-hopping, long-commuter or charter flights. These aircraft have a pressurized cabin by default, a significantly higher number of passengers and, compared to CS-23B category, also higher energy demands during a flight due to other appliances and other additional systems necessary to guarantee a standard level of aircraft safety of operation and passengers’ comfort.
Usual operating altitudes are around 35 000 ft, however, there are no limits for cruising height. Airspeeds are still in the subsonic range due to a flight economy and both types of propulsion systems (propellers and jet engines) are possible.
